The UofSC Bassoon Studio and friends perform Brad Balliett’s Arboretum, specially conceived in this new version for the Congaree National Park. Each of the many solos, which work both individually and together — all are based on the same elongated harmonic progression — portrays a specific species of tree in the park (I’ll be playing the premiere of Bald Cypress).
